Great Charities to Support This Time of year

Springtime has officially arrived! At Marilyn Rose Interiors, we believe in supporting worthy charities throughout the year, and we’re proud to lend our support to many wonderful organizations year-round.

I recently attended events for two very special organizations, and wanted to share these charities with you.

I recently attended a “Wild Party” at the Huntington Country Club – it was a great time, but not “Wild” in the Studio 54 sense!

The Wild Party was a fundraiser for Volunteers for Wildlife. Volunteers for Wildlife is dedicated to preserving Long Island’s wildlife and natural habitats. Not only do they rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, but they have many education initiatives to help the public learn more about wildlife preservation. When they rehabilitate these animals, they release them back into the wild; if they’re unable to go back into the wild, Volunteers for Wildlife takes care of them.

The spring is “baby season,” and when many injured animals come into the Volunteers for Wildlife facility. I urge you to learn more about this wonderful organization, and to consider donating to help them during this busy season.

Another fantastic fundraiser for a very worthy cause was the “Reach for a Star” luncheon at the Crest Hollow Country Club. This luncheon benefitted theHenry Viscardi School at the Viscardi Center, which offers incredible educational opportunities for children with severe physical disabilities.

The Henry Viscardi School works to empower these students, and offers a combination of core academics and cultural enrichment that enables students to be active, independent, and self-sufficient participants in society. The school offers a huge range of activities, resources, and opportunities to its students, along with the high-quality education it provides.

The Henry Viscardi School, its involved parents, and its incredible students were truly inspiring. I highly recommend checking out the school’s website to learn more about the life-changing work they do!
